A Guide to Image Resolution for Creating the Ideal Custom Stamp Artwork File
Quite frankly we will attempt to work with any image file so would always ask for the highest resolution / quality file you have. However you need to be aware that the image resolution determines both how much we can manipulate an image to make it suitable and ultimately this will also effect the final custom stamp impression.
In an ideal world, the custom stamp image resolution should be:
- Raster images - A minimum of 300 dpi. Images with text really need to be 600dpi
- Vector images - can be any resolution as they are scalable without loss of quality.
Lower resolution images will create lesser quality images which may be visible with round shapes or rounded edges as they may appear angular or pixelated.
So if you’re unsure, a resolution of 600 dpi is ideal for a stamp graphic but don’t worry we can work magic on lower resolution images although text would most probably need to be recreated.
Free Proofing Service - We provide sized proofs by email for all our large stamps and any designs that are more than simple text/images.
